So when it came to inviting performers for a handprint ceremony for the late singer, Jackson's daughter Paris ensured Justin Bieber was at the top of the list.
And the 13-year-old singer appeared more than a little excited as she introduced the 17-year-old singer to the stage outside Grauman’s Chinese Theatre.

Paris was joined by her siblings Prince Michael, 14, and Blanket, nine, for the ceremony, which saw the trio press their hands and feet into a slab of concrete with their late father’s name scrawled on it.
They also imprinted their father’s hand with a sequined glove, and his feet with a pair of shoes.

The company performed a number from their show for the event’s attendees.
And teen pop sensation Justin Bieber also took to the stage to perform Rockin' Robin, giving a touching introduction before he burst into song.

'He was more than an entertainer. He was an inspiration the way he was kind, he was gentle and very charitable.
Good spirits: The siblings smiled widely as they remembered their father at the ceremony'That’s why I look up to him. People are going to remember him for his dancing and singing, but people have to remember him for being the man that he was. I think everybody right now should give Michael a round of applause.'
He added: 'Everything I do, I look at Michael and I want to be as good as he was.'

Melanie Fiona also performed, while Smokey Robinson, Quincy Jones and Chris Tucker all made speeches. And the children were not the only family members on hand to honour the memory of the late musician.
