Battle of the boybands: The Wanted's Max George (L) and Tom Parker (R) seemed in good spirits as they arrived at the Radio One studios in central London this evening

They've been friendly rivals ever since they both launched their careers on the other side of the Atlantic.
But it would seem there is still an element of competition between One Direction and The Wanted if today's antics are anything to go by.
Appearing on the Radio One Breakfast Show this morning (Monday), the All Time Low hitmakers received their fair share of ribbing from host Chris Moyles.

New pals: The Wanted posed alongside Breakfast Show host Chris Moyles as they stopped in for a chat this morning (Monday)

And when he claimed One Direction are the better-known of the two bands, the group made a not so sly dig about their boyband rivals.
Appearing to imply the former X Fator runners-up don't ever move away from their signature sound, Tom Parker explained their new single is something 'a bit different'.

Casual: Nathan Parker went for a dressed-down look in jeans and a hooded jumper

He said: 'Our new single I Found You is a bit different. We like to mix it up. We try not to be stereotypical.'
But Tom's comments didn't seem to sit too well with One Direction's Harry Styles, who reportedly hit back with a spot of friendly banter on his Twitter page.

Rivals: The Wanted's boyband competition, One Direction, recently scooped three gongs at the MTV Video Music Awards

He wrote: 'Chris Moyles' is actually right though... If 1D aren't in the picture, The Wanted would've been WAY more popular!'
The Wanted, made up of Max George, Tom Parker, Siva Kaneswaran, Nathan Sykes and Jay McGuinness, all opted for casual looks as they arrived at the Radio One studios in central London.
But their dressed-down attire could have been due to the face that they only recently returned from a gruelling five-week promotional tour of the US.
And the boys certainly seemed to be enjoying their home comforts.
