Alexandre Vauthier presents deliberate 'nip-slip' dress at Paris Fashion Week - but who would dare to wear it?

Not a wardrobe malfunction: The material of the short black dress is deliberately cut away across the chest gathering to a jewel-embellished choker collar

Fashion designer Alexandre Vauthier's celebrity fans include Kylie Minogue, Heidi Klum and Rita Ora but it's unlikely you'll see them on the red carpet in one LBD from his latest collection.
Stars and models are usually at pains to avoid the dreaded 'nip-slip' using strategically placed tape and special underwear - but Vauthier's outfit from his spring/summer collection deliberately lets it all hang out.
A brave model walked the catwalk at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week in the revealing dress from his haute couture range which has fabric draping around - but not covering - her breasts.

Revealing: Alexandre Vauthier's LBD caused a stir on the catwalk at Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week

Such revealing and daring styles were a theme in Vauthier's collection. The French designer, who started his career with Thierry Mugler and Jean Paul Gaultier before founding his own fashion house in 2009, also showcased blackless dresses and those with leg splits to the hip - all in black.

Red carpet ready: Vauthier's celebrity fans may be more likely to wear this dress with a leg split to the hip, left, or this jumpsuit which keeps the nipples covered

There were also dresses with sheer fabric covering the chest leaving nothing to the imagination.
For those who want to be daring but not reveal quite as much, he also presented a jumpsuit in a similar style to the breast-exposing dress. However, the fabric cut from the collar to the waist in this item was designed to cover the nipples whilst still exposing the cleavage and abdomen.

Fashion fans: Uma Thurman and Hillary Swank were among the A-listers on the front row at Armani's show

Celebrities on the front row for Vauthier's show included Christian Louboutin.
Meanwhile, actress Uma Thuman flew in to view Armani's show that featured a display of luxurious silks, with rhinestones, jet and crystal. The collection included bold colours and prints presented by the models who walked down a catwalk that took the form of a bolt of lightning.

At Chanel, actresses Diane Kruger, Clemence Poesy and 16-year-old Academy Award nominee Hailee Steinfeld were delighted by the natural landscape setting at Paris Grand Palais where 90 oak trees and more than 3,000 bushes helped set the scene for Karl Lagerfeld's 19th-century inspired outfits.
Feathers, tulle and layers of lace were prominent in the decadent designs.

Sheer backs and see-through silk blocks on legs added touches of sensuality to black and white designs at Stephane Rolland's show where Kim Kardashian was the guest of honour. She caused a delay to the show's start by making a fashionably late entrance to the front row.

Chic: Stephane Rolland's spring/summer collection was predominately black and white
